Fiction writer for tween girlsLong time Pruning Princesses readers will remember that I love to share work by Nancy Rue. (Remember Mom’s Ultimate Guide to the Tween Girl World? Or when I shared a lesson from the Buddy Book about Teaching Your Girl How to Appeal Your NO? Or Rue’s fiction book series for tween girls? Or from the post Learning About Beauty in a Healthy Way?). Nancy Rue has her pulse on tween girls and she wants them to love God. Perhaps you are familiar with Faithgirlz? The Faithgirlz Bible? Nancy is the author behind all the little extras in that sweet Bible designed especially for tweens. And the Bible has been updated. Check out all the new updates here.

Nancy is hoping to encourage your tween to fall in love with Jesus during this week where love and boys and crush may creep in to conversations a little too often. Today and Thursday, I will be sharing two of the ten reasons your daughter should fall in love with Jesus. You can use the mini-devotion to encourage your girl this week. You can check out the whole series here. And while you and your girl talk about Jesus and his love, maybe you will enjoy the sneak peeks into the Faithgirlz Bible that will accompany each devotion. I know you will be blessed by Nancy’s heart. Here she is (yes, on my blog!).

Hel-l-o-o-o Mothers of Mini-Women! Thanks to Laura for letting me join you all. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate ALL of you moms who are reading this. The eye-rolling and “Mo-om!” notwithstanding, you are still the most important influence in your tween daughter’s life. I hope you’ll share this with her:

For the mini-women:

Like most M-W’s, you’re probably way aware that the Valentine’s Day season is here, and you probably either love the cards, the candy, the frills – or you can’t wait for the thing to be over because it makes you so painfully aware of who DOESN’T like you! One being DOES like you. He loves you, in fact. He’s just waiting for YOU to fall in love with HIM. Why would you? In ten different posts, each one giving you a peek at a feature from the FaithGirlz Bible, we’re giving you a Reason To Fall In Love With JESUS. Here’s  one (read the complete series here).

Reason #5: Because Jesus knows exactly how you feel, all the time. Other people, especially moms and dads, may tell you they do, but sometimes they just don’t. No other person can really get into your heart and get right where you’re coming from ALL the time. Jesus can. You can count on it.

Love me some Nancy Rue! Just entered.

Hey and to answer the question you left about names on my blog, you would think since I was always so connected with my name and what it meant that I’d put some thought into the meaning of my girls’ names, but did that happen? Ha! Nopity, nope.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Laura.

So I love how connected to your name you feel. We named our kids because we loved how they sounded. And then in school, both girls had to do a name research project and my youngest burst into tears because her name most commonly means, “unheeded prophetess.” Sorry baby girl!
