Giveaway: Mother/Daughter Devo by Dannah Gresh

January 15, 2014 in Blog,books

Dannah GreshSometimes you write about a book you enjoy on your blog because you believe other moms will be blessed by it too. Sometimes you decide to be bolder than usual and share the post, via Twitter, with the author of that devo. Sometimes the author actually reads the post, shares it and in one day you have a bunch of new readers (Welcome!). And sometimes that author reads the final sentence of the post which is a shamefully blunt request for a copy of her devo to give away, and she says yes ( and then you know the author is truly someone you want as a friend). So dear readers, leave a comment below, telling me the best devotion you’ve ever used (doesn’t have to be a parent/child one), and you might win your very own copy of Dannah Gresh’s One Year Mother/Daughter Devo.  Winner to be chosen at random by my 11-year-old who likes pick-a-random-number -game so mommy- can- give- something- away- on- her- blog. Enter before Monday, January 20, at bedtime (9 pm EST).

And if you haven’t already, check out Dannah’s ministry Pure Freedom (for teen girls encouraging them in purity, modesty, and true love) or her tween girl ministry, Secret Keeper Girl (the one-night event for moms and daughters that tours around the country is definitely worth your time and money).  These are ministries all girl moms should have as resources.

Best Devotion I ever read was Jesus Calling – speaks right to my heart and draws me to HIM each morning. Short enough to read while kids are getting breakfast, and deep enough to make me thirst for more.

I really enjoy the Jesus Calling devotional. We also have the kids’ version and our daughter likes to “lead” her brothers in reading it. 🙂

I would agree that Jesus Calling is a wonderful new found devo for me. A woman after God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George is another one of my favorites!

I love Dannah Gresh books!! I got her devo for Hannah for Christmas and her 8 dates book but would love the Devo for moms and daughters.

I really loved “Praying God’s Word Day by Day” by Beth Moore, but “Jesus Calling” is also really awesome. I won your “Whispers of Hope” book, so I’m pretty sure I should be disqualified from this drawing, but I still wanted to comment.:) Congrats on your new following! I love reading your blog!!

You aren’t disqualified, but maybe you could share the giveaway with a few friends? And thank you so much for the encouragement.

I read “Keeping the little in your girl” by Dannah Gresh And I’m just learning about this book. I have a 11 year old that I would love to do this Devo with. ~ I haven’t read Jesus Calling yet either but looks like I may have to look that one up as well.. I would have to say that so far the best Devo I have read is “The Faith Dare”

I have three daughters but no devotionals for us in the specifics of mother/daughter. We do have a family devotion we do BUT this would be a blessing! Thank you!

Denise, honestly, I think 85% of the devotions in this apply to all people, regardless of age or gender. You could just skip the ones that don’t apply to everyone.

Cammi, I have never seen this devotion. Is it for adults?

Yes its a book for adults but really applicable for girls. Sheri Rose Shephard also wrote a beautiful girls devotional as well that my husband and daughter read together.
