The other hot drink…passing on our loves to our girls

October 27, 2012 in recipes

Kinds of teaI hate coffee. The smell is fabulous. The taste I could never learn to enjoy. If it hadn’t been for that tea party in Boston, you coffee lovers would still be drinking tea like me.

Winter in the Midwest necessitates that each resident has a favorite hot drink. Mine is tea. At first, I was tentative. Tea is deceptive like its cousin coffee. It can smell much better than it tastes. The first tea I loved was called Licorice Spice by Stash. It was sweet and it smelled like it tasted. The aftertaste was subtle and pleasant.

After my first baby that I became a tea snob…..

Yesterday, a kind blogging friend who loves coffee invited me to share on her coffee Fridays feature. She kindly let me write about the only hot drink we have in our house. Read the rest of the story here….

I love coffee! But in the evening I need to watch out for caffeine, so I turn to my favorite tea which is Honey Vanilla Camomile by Celestial Seasonings. Have you ever tried it?

Sheila, I have never tried the Honey Vanilla Chamomile but I learned to love chamomile on a trip to China where it is served with the whole Chamomile flower floating in the water. I love tea before bed. Though in the evening I tend to favor whites and mint teas. Chamomile would be a good choice too. Thanks for stopping by.

Mz. Dolphin, I also adore Jasmine Green. If you try the English Breakfast you can get decaf versions and make sure you use cream and a tiny bit of your favorite sweetener. Let me know what you think!
